Teichoan is a new rest area with a café and terrace that was built next to Yashimagaike Pond in December 2017.

It is named after a poem by Tang-dynasty Chinese poet Meng Haoran. The name means “the birds are singing”, and conveys Fushimi Inari Taisha’s wish that this become a place where birds gather around the pond and there is a coexistence between the deities, humans and nature.
